Receiving Support from your Community in your Postpartum Time

IMG_4849.JPG

What’s Happening:

Sasha will talk about the Postpartum recovery period after baby is born. This “4th trimester” or sacred window of time is critical in the life of both the mama/baby dyad and for the whole family system. We will discuss how and why it is important to plan rest time during this initial recovery period. We will focus on receiving community care, and talk about different ways to enroll support from your community so that you can emerge from postpartum fully nourished and in excellent health.

Most of us have a very hard time receiving support, or asking for help and this is a big part of why we need to plan ahead for postpartum. It can be so vulnerable and tender to let your community serve and support you. Ultimately when we allow ourselves to receive this way, our whole family system benefits. We will talk about why our partners cannot be our only postpartum plan. And how to make sure older children have support during this adjustment phase too.
